A Samsung LED wall, one of its kind in Europe: guided by a digital and illuminated work of art, the visitor experience at the entrance to the D2 tower is a real showstopper!
Discover the project in video: Yousense – D2 tower.
Completed in 2015, the D2 tower has achieved many accolades, having won the “New Offices and Retail” category at the Archi Design Club Awards, the “Habitat and Environment” category at the Trophées du Bien-Être and the Eiffel Steel trophy in the “Workplace” category.
Designed by architects Anthony Béchu and Tom Sheehan for Sogecap, this 54,000 m², 171 m high, 36 storey skyscraper, is the latest development in the La Défense district. With its oval shape and its position on the edge of the ring road, the D2 tower does not go unnoticed. Anthony Béchu likes to compare his creation to a tree “Our skyscraper is a tree, the central concrete core is the trunk, the metal beams are the branches and the diamond shapes are the leaves.”
Our customer, Esset property management, a property management expert, is no stranger to the many skyscrapers in the La Défense business district. The mission of the Esset property management teams is to support the development and promotion of the portfolio it manages, in line with the new ways its tenants use the spaces: coworking, collaborative environments, mobility, digital services for employees – on-site or off-site concierge services, digital service tools, activities communal areas, remote health services, gym, etc. To bring together performance and wellbeing, Esset property management is duty-bound to be a driving force in developing the workspaces of tomorrow.
The Yousense team, constantly striving for innovative solutions for a unique user experience, is particularly well placed to meet these challenges.
The project : The various displays at the entrance to these skyscrapers are very important reception and communication tools for tenants and visitors. The D2 tower was completed in 2015 with an LED screen, named the “Digital Flaw”, which no longer met the expectations of the owner in terms of brightness and content.
The entire Yousense team worked on this project through workshops, in order to remedy this flaw, with the aim of modernising the reception area to achieve the “wow” effect as soon as you enter the skyscraper.
The result of this project was our teams installing a Samsung LED wall, one of its kind in Europe, 9.5 m tall and 1.6 m wide, offering a 15.35 m2 video transmission surface area. LED wall technology provides a seamless image, the fineness of the pitch ensures very high resolution, which coupled with excellent brightness, ensures an exceptional image.
